GAME ENGINEER

We need a full-time Game Engineer. You will be working in our Seattle, WA office.

We are a small, agile team so you’ll be expected to work on a broad variety of features and systems. We will also expect you to contribute creatively by being involved in the design process, and proactively prototyping new ideas and solutions.

 

REQUIREMENTs

  • Minimum five years of experience in games or a closely-related field – we want to see shipped games (small/indie games are fine)
  • Fluency in networking and multiplayer concepts
  • Strong 3D math background (e.g., linear algebra, vector math)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in C#
  • Experience with Unity, Unreal, or a similar game engine
  • Comfortable working in fast-moving, ambiguous development environments.
  • A constant desire to learn, improve, and help others improve

 

BONUS POINTS

  • Strong background in Augmented and/or Virtual Reality technologies (e.g., HTC Vive, Steam VR, Oculus Rift, etc.)
  • Recent console experience (e.g., PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
  • Experience with live services and rapid-deployment
  • Experience with metrics/telemetry
  • Experience with and passion for design

LEVEL DESIGNER

 

We need a full-time Level Designer. You will be working in our Seattle, WA office.

Our app, Rec Room, is a social VR service with a growing community of users from all around the world. Our mission is to ensure that Rec Room is a fun and welcoming environment for people from all walks of life.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum five years of experience building single player and multiplayer levels for games – shipped titles are great, but we'll gladly review your maps, mods, and indie projects
  • Extremely strong eye for level layout and encounter design  
  • Experience with Unity, Unreal, or a similar game engine
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working in fast-moving, ambiguous development environments.
  • A constant desire to learn, improve, and help others improve

BONUS POINTS

  • Strong background in Augmented and/or Virtual Reality technologies (e.g., HTC Vive, Steam VR, Oculus Rift, etc.)

SOFTWARE GAME ENGINEER

Job Description

Responsible for computer engineering and software development of computer games.  Collaborate with computer engineers and software game engineers to design and develop computer games, including indie games, and contribute to all stages of the creative process, from conception to shipping.  Design, develop, implement, and test a broad variety of features and systems for computer games, including developing virtual reality gameplay logic and systems.  Proactively prototype new computer engineering ideas and solutions for computer game design and development.

 

Minimum Job Requirements

Requires a Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Games & Playable Media, or a related field; and one year of experience in: Designing and developing computer games for current generation game consoles or home computers in ambiguous or agile development environments involving live service and rapid deployment; Architecting and implementing software features from design documentation; and Creating computer games with Unity or similar cross-platform game engine and writing code with C#.  Experience must include at least six months of experience in: 3D asset management and game design concepts; Networking, designing, and developing multiplayer concepts utilizing 3D math skills including linear algebra, vector math, metrics, and telemetry; and Rapid iteration development and practices in game development.  In addition, experience must include Leading the development of at least two game titles which were released to the public market, and are playable on game console, mobile device, and/or PC platforms.
