SR. GAME ENGINEER

We need a full-time Game Engineer. You will be working in our Seattle, WA office.

We are a small, agile team so you’ll be expected to work on a broad variety of features and systems. We will also expect you to contribute creatively by being involved in the design process, and proactively prototyping new ideas and solutions.

 

REQUIREMENTs

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five years of experience in games or a closely-related field – we want to see shipped games (small/indie games are fine)
  • Fluency in networking and multiplayer concepts
  • Strong 3D math background (e.g., linear algebra, vector math)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in C#
  • Experience with Unity, Unreal, or a similar game engine
  • Comfortable working in fast-moving, ambiguous development environments.
  • A constant desire to learn, improve, and help others improve

 

BONUS POINTS

  • Strong background in Augmented and/or Virtual Reality technologies (e.g., HTC Vive, Steam VR, Oculus Rift, etc.)
  • Recent console experience (e.g., PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
  • Experience with live services and rapid-deployment
  • Experience with metrics/telemetry
  • Experience with and passion for design

DESIGNER - UGC (User Generated Content) 

We need a full-time UGC Designer. You will be working in our Seattle, WA office.
Our app, Rec Room, is a social VR service with a growing community of users from all around the world. Our mission is to ensure that Rec Room is a fun and welcoming environment for people from all walks of life.

Your role would include the following:

  • Working with developers, artists, and other designers to design and build creative tools which will be used by the Rec Room community
  • Thinking systemically about our existing toolsets and roadmap.  What's needed next?  What's missing?  Where are the pain points?
  • Talking to our community to understand the needs and challenges of community creators.
  • Beyond creative tools, you'll also own Discovery and Reward systems for UGC.  How do players find the latest and greatest UGC content?  How do we reward the top UGC creators?

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum five years of experience designing and building games and game systems
  • Extremely strong intuition for creative toolsets and systems design
  • Experience with Unity, Unreal, or a similar game engine
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working in fast-moving, ambiguous development environments.
  • A constant desire to learn, improve, and help others improve
  • Experience interacting with online communities (e.g., on Discord or Reddit)

BONUS POINTS

  • Strong background in Augmented and/or Virtual Reality technologies (e.g., HTC Vive, Steam VR, Oculus Rift, etc.)
  • Recent console experience (e.g., PlayStation 4, Xbox One)
  • Experience building multiplayer games
  • C# or scripting experience
