One Year of Player Created Rooms!

Last December, we introduced the ability for players to create and publish their own rooms inside of Rec Room. In less than a year, you’ve built and published over 300,000 rooms, and those rooms have been visited over 60 million times. People now spend more time playing the rooms and games you build than the games we build! You’ve built games, talk shows, escape rooms, comedy clubs, theme parks, cities, RPGs, art exhibits, and even wedding venues 😄

The passion and hard work of the community just humbles us, and we want to say thank you for building Rec Room alongside us this past year. To celebrate one year of player created rooms, we’ll be augmenting the Creator Rewards Program for the month of December.

Creators of popular rooms have always been rewarded with RecTokens, but in December we’re also going to offer cash rewards for the top 50 rooms! A total pool of $5,000 will be split between the top 50 rooms, with the top three rooms taking home $500 each. For more details check out the full official program rules link below. We love our players and we look forward to seeing what you build and sending out the December creator rewards!

Rules

  • Please see the full rules and eligibility requirements here: THE CREATOR REWARDS PROGRAM OFFICIAL RULES

  • A player may submit their room by publishing it with the room tag #Creator2018

  • Any published room may be submitted, no matter its creation date

  • Rooms will be ranked based on the player engagement time they see between the Program Start Date and the Submission Deadline as calculated by AG

  • Entries to the Program may be submitted as early as December 1, 2018 [Pacific Time] (the “Program Start Date”).

  • Entries must be submitted on or before December 31, 2018 [Pacific Time] to be considered (the “Submission Deadline”)

  • The time at which you add the #Creator2018 tag does not matter for the player engagement calculation, as long as the room is tagged before the submission deadline all of its engagement time in December will be counted

  • The room and any subrooms or linked rooms must adhere to the Rec Room Code of Conduct

  • Rewards will be distributed to the creator of the room and they will be contacted via the email address registered to their Rec Room account

  • Rewards will be sent via a prepaid debit card, either via physical mail or email

  • Players will receive multiple rewards if they have multiple rooms ranking in the top 50

  • Rooms or creators found to be using malicious practices such as aggressive invite spamming, non-authentic players, or other attempts to ‘game the system’ may be disqualified

Rewards

1st - 3rd = $500!

4th - 7th = $250

8th - 14th = $100

15th - 50th = $50
